Check out which shows topped the TRP charts this week. Take a look as we list down the shows that are most loved by the audience!(based on Urban charts)
Its Friday and while the films give their exams by releasing in the theatres, the results for TV shows is out. Just like any other week, the Top 10 list always has some regular members, maintaining their presence with either a rise or a fall.
However, what makes this week peculiar, is that these numbers denote the fate of shows from the first week of this NEW year. The first week of this new year has certainly brought in several surprises and one major SHOCK!
Before we reveal the SHOCKER, lets see the Top 10 shows which had new entries and some regular members dwindling their spots.
At Number 10 is a re-entry for the Star Plus long-runner, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai‘. The show, surprisingly was knocked out of the Top 10 last week, but has now made its comeback into the chart with 2.6 points. The show will hope for a better run in the coming week.
Colors popular show, ‘Udaan‘, was enjoying a Top 5 spot last week. But this week, Udaan has suffered a fall in the position, as it has dropped down to the 9th position with 2.6 points. Just like a ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, we wonder why does this ‘mixed doubles’ show, has this viewership.
Another NEW entry in the list is ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki‘. The whole revelation of Malaika (Smriti Khanna) certainly fetched numbers for the show, as it has entered the list again at the 8th position with 2.6 points. The upcoming news maker consummation sequence, may just add to those numbers in the upcoming week.
This week saw a surprising re-entry for the Colors show, ‘Shani.’ The show, that has been an underdog since day one, scores because of the mammoth scale and visual treat, backed with a compelling story line. This formula, continues to fetch numbers for the show, as it has entered the list, at the 7th position with 2.6 points.
A jump for the consistent member of Top 10, for almost 8 years now? The Sab TV sitcom maintains its ‘rock solid’ viewership like never before. And with the New Year, the show has taken a new jump. ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah‘, currently occupies the 6th position with 2.7 points.
Another rise in the rankings was seen for Star Plus long runner, ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya.’ Another mystery about this massive viewership still remains unsolved, but the show has risen from the 7th spot to 5th spot this week with 2.7 points.
A drop was seen for Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya‘. The show has dropped from the 3rd spot to the 4th spot this week and it leaves the 3 points club, as it fetches 2.9 points this week. Tanu and Alia hate Pragya (Sriti Jha). The same plot for two and a half years and it is still running!
Colors GEC leader, ‘Shakti… Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii‘ was in a bit of controversy this week as it received backlash from fans for using the ‘kinnar’ concept to present melodrama. However, the show’s viewership remained marginally unaffected, as it has fetched 3.0 points and has dropped down to the 3rd spot, only because of the one-time 2nd position entrant.
And the biggest SURPRISE entry for the week at the 2nd spot is the Star Screen Annual Awards 2017. The telecast of Star Screen Annual Awards 2017 rocketed with 3.2 points. Award shows are usually rating fetchers, but these numbers denote that it was a massive deal, because of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan coming together for the show. This also became the reason that Star Plus toppled Colors to gain the Top spot in the channel leaders.
No surprises here as the Colors supernatural thriller Naagin 2 continues to top the charts (hence, we did not even change the image this time). However, what is significant, is that there is major drop in its viewership. The viewership dropped from 4.1 to 3.6 points this week.
And some readers must have already guessed the SHOCKER here! If not, here is what we are talking about. Star Plus’ popular show, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein‘, is knocked out of the Top 10 for the first time extensively, in over a year after being in the 10th position last week. The show, may soon have to work on something ‘huge’ to regain its position in the Top 10.
